Google Increases US Search Share
Figures just released from comScore, a global marketing information provider, indicates that Google has continued to increase its lead as a provider of online searches. According to their March 2006 Search Engine Rankings report which tracs competitive search engines, Google gained in market share over the previous year for the eighth consecutive month.

According to the report, "Americans conducted 6.4 billion searches online in March, up 10 percent from last month and 15 percent from last year. The increase in search queries from the previous month marked the largest gain over the past twelve months."
Of course, you will want to optimize your site for all of the major search engines, but a little extra emphasis on Google seems prudent.
