Click Throughs

What are click throughs? Click throughs, often called "ad clicks," or "ad requests," is the process of a visitor clicking on a Website advertisement; thus taking the visitor to the advertising website.

How are click throughs measured? Each time an advertisement is viewed or clicked, the rate (of both instances) is measured against one another to determine how often an ad is actually clicked. Click throughs are the actual number visitors that have "clicked through" an advertising banner, graphic or text link; and have actually traveled to the advertiser's website. It is important to remember that the difference between click throughs and impressions is that impressions are counts of
  • In addition to click throughs, use other advertising campaigns to increase your revenue stream. Sites that claim to have high click throughs and low sale generations may be falsely clicking on your click through ads.
  • Be sure to check software for misconfiguration. Sometimes, software can inadvertently count page views as click throughs, which would ultimately misrepresent actual click through traffic. If a potential website cannot explain their click through software configuration, they probably shouldn't be advertising your ad banner.
