Webmaster
A webmaster is an individual who creates and maintains a website (with regard to rich content and/or graphics); or someone who manages the website programming and server attributes. Various duties that a webmaster may carry out include web design, contracting technical resources; categorization and expansion of website content and other *miscellaneous programming *(e.g. server maintenance and management; HTML programming; File system management and execution; and script writing).Highly skilled webmasters may be able to expertly perform all of these duties. In the case of smaller organizations, webmasters usually do execute a broad variety (if not all) of these tasks.
While the Internet continues to mature over time, webmasters are critical to the infrastructural development and growth of sites on the World Wide Web. Though independent websites vary in their specific definition to what their webmaster functions are; the overall assumption is that they must have a proficient comprehension to HTML, and a basic conception as to why businesses should create a website.
